2025-26 audition information
Thank You to Everyone Who Auditioned for the 2025–2026 Dance Ensemble!
I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out to audition this year. It was truly inspiring to see so much talent and so many familiar faces in the room!
As many of you know, our Dance Ensembles have been at full capacity for the past few years. This year was no different, and while that’s a testament to the strength of our program, it also means that, unfortunately, not everyone who auditioned made it into the Ensemble.
If your name does not appear on the list, please know that this decision was not made lightly. Many factors play into the selection process, including year in school, technical strength, mastery of fundamental skills, musicality, retention and pick-up of choreography, performance quality, and overall execution.
For those not listed on the 2025–2026 Ensemble, I encourage you to enroll in the Intermediate Dance class. Unlike this year, only students who auditioned will be placed in that class, which will allow us to move faster and go deeper. The Intermediate class will also understudy the Ensemble’s work to better prepare for future auditions. In addition, we’ll be bringing in guest choreographers and providing more performance opportunities, just like the Ensemble experience.
If you do not plan to enroll in Intermediate Dance next year, please email me directly at sbraccini@smuhsd.org so I can remove you from the roster.
I hope to see each and every one of you in class, but if I don’t, I hope you continue to dance in whatever way brings you joy and growth.
To those who made the Ensemble — Congratulations! I’ll be sending out information soon via the BAND app. Our first official meeting will take place when I return in July. Be on the lookout for the summer rehearsal schedule and uniform request forms.
Here’s to an exciting new year of dance ahead!
